How to write a good press release?…These are the questions that if you have heard of press releases and how effective they are in promoting a product or service, you probably have asked yourself. Do you know how to write a good press release? Do you know what kind of information a press release needs to contain?…

When it comes to promoting your blog, press releases are an important and effective tool to get the word out about your blog and drive traffic to it while building some valuable back-links. A well written press release can give your blog a great exposure. A kind of exposure that otherwise you have to spend thousands of dollars in advertising to achieve. But, not any Press release is going to do it. Not any Press release is going to be published by the media. When it comes to writing an effective press release, there are a few things you need to consider:

Newsworthy News
An effective Press release is a Press release that contains a newsworthy item. It should be written as an announcement and not as an advertisement.

Write in simple English
Write your Press releases an easy to understand English. Avoid using technical language. The easier it is to read and understand your press release the more people you it will reach.

Get to the point
Press releases should be on the topic. Go straight to the point. Plain and simple. If your press release needs too much editing, editors may refuse to publish your press release.

Tell the readers how they might benefit from your product or service
In your press release you should tell the readers how and why would they benefit from whatever it is you are promoting. If its your new blog that you are promoting, let them know how they might benefit from reading your blog.

Attention grabbing headlines
The headline of your press release is the most important part. Its the deciding factor between a person clicking on your link or ignoring it. Make your headline interesting and attention grabbing. It should be relevant, and at the same time should attract the interest of readers. Of course you want to make sure that the body of your press release delivers what the headline promises.

Contact information
One of the most important pieces of information a press release needs to have is your contact information. Whether its your phone number, your web address, email address or what have you, make sure you include it at the end of your press release.

Press releases can be one of the best ways to  promote your blog, product or service. A good Press release can give you an unbelievable amount of exposure that could take your blog to the next level. Be sure to take advantage of it now that you know how to write a press release.
