Knowing how to create an eBook is a useful knowledge to have. Creating and selling eBooks or digital books is one of the fastest ways to make money working from home. These days, eBooks are becoming even more popular thanks to the many personal gadgets and devices such as Kindle, iPad, and Android that enable people to download and read digital books anywhere and anytime.
The thing that sets eBooks apart from the rest of online money-making methods is that almost anyone can do it. You can turn any knowledge or expertise you have about a particular subject into an eBook. It’s an instant work from home opportunity.
Try Swagbucks, the famous rewards program that pays you for watching videos, taking surveys, shopping and more.
To create an eBook, you need to take certain steps, and you will need some tools. There are two ways to create eBooks. You can either buy software and eBook templates & covers, where everything is done for you, or if you are on a tight budget, like me, you can make an eBook 100% free, by doing all the work manually. There are lots of eBook creation services and software out there, so I am not going to cover that. You can find plenty by doing a quick search on Google.
However, if you want to create an eBook 100% free, keep reading to find out how. The following is a 5 steps plan to make eBooks without spending a dime:

That’s my first paid eBook!
1- Research The Market
Do some research to find out what kind of information people are after. You can use keyword tools like Google AdWords to find out about popular and on demand topics. You want to write an eBook on a subject that people want to read about. That will be your niche.
The second phase is to learn what kinds of problems people have in that niche. An easy way to do that is to frequent online discussion forums related to your niche. There, by browsing threads and posts you can see what kinds of problems people are facing in that niche, what kinds of questions they have, and so on. With this knowledge, you can create an eBook that caters to the needs of people, giving them answers and solutions to their questions and problems.
2- Writ Your eBook
Now that you have a subject for an eBook that is marketable, it’s time to start writing the actual eBook. Since you have chosen a niche that you already have some knowledge about, it shouldn’t be that hard to write about it.
If you get stuck, simply write down all the question and issues that you found (in step 1) people are having, then try to provide answers and solutions. If your know-how is not enough for the eBook, you can simply use the Internet to learn more about the subject, so you can provide better information.
Once you are ready to write, simply use Notepad or Word to write and create a txt or HTML file. When you are done, take your time in proof reading your eBook. Make sure there are no grammatical and spelling errors.
If you have to only sign up for one paid survey site to make money with, I recommend Ipsos-iSay. Ipsos is the most fun and well-paying panel. Give it a try to see how you like it. It is free anyway!
3- Convert To PDF
To convert your simple text file into an eBook, you will have to turn it into a PDF file, so they can be read through software like Adobe. There are many ways to create a PDF file. Some are free, and some you have to pay for.
Since we are trying to spend no money at all for creating our eBook, we need a free tool. I always use Open Office. It’s an open source program that does a lot of other things, including PDF conversion. Simply open up Open Office, copy and paste your text into it, and push the button where it says “Export As PDF”. It automatically converts your text file into a PDF. It is as simple as that!
4- Create An eBook Cover
Like any book, an eBook isn’t complete without a cover. There are many software that you can purchase to create an eBook cover, but you have to buy them. We need a simple cover that we can use for free. I have been using MyeCoverMaker.com. the free version of it gives you about 10 or so great looking eBook cover templates that you can edit and modify to your liking. You can make amazing eBook covers in minutes, all without spending a penny.
5- Publish & Promote Your eBook
Now that your eBook is ready, you need to market it, and put it in front of potential buyers. The fastest and easiest way to get your new eBook in front of potential buyers is to use classified section of related online forums. The same forums you used in your step one research to find out about problems people are having regarding the subject of your eBook, can now be used to promote your eBook. You can also use free classifieds sites such as Craigslist to sell your eBook.
Although, there are many ways to sell your eBook, selling your eBook on affiliate marketing networks specializing in selling eBooks is the best ways for getting maximum result. One such a site is ClickBank. The only draw back is that you have to pay a one-time $49.95 product activation fee, which if you are serious about selling your eBook, is worth it. Depending on the amount you are charging for your eBook, you can make that money easily on your first or first few sales.
Another great site to sell your eBook Or any digital product for that matter is PayLoadz, which is free to use, with option to upgrade.
Of course, you can always promote your eBooks on your own blog or website if you have one. Also, be sure to take advantage of Kindle’s popularity, by uploading your eBook to Amazon Kindle, so you can sell more of your eBook.
Creating and selling eBooks is a great way to make money from home while sharing your knowledge and expertise with other people who may need it. The good thing is that the demand for information and knowledge is always high. Take advantage of this high demand, and turn your knowledge and expertise into a money-making machine by creating quality eBooks.
