When it comes to paid surveys and online rewards program, Inbox Dollars is one of the most well-known sites, partly because of its mention by ABC’s popular morning show Good Morning America.
If you’ve been searching for an open, honest review of Inbox Dollars then search no further. In this article I will explore the trustworthiness of the site so you can know if it’s one to try or avoid.
Try Swagbucks, the famous rewards program that pays you for watching videos, taking surveys, shopping and more.
About InboxDollars
Inbox Dollars is run by CotterWeb Enterprises, Inc. which also owns SendEarnings, as well as InboxPounds (an online rewards club for UK audience).
The site is similar to many of the online survey panels out there today. If you’ve tried any of these, you probably already have a good idea how this site works.
Before we begin I want to start by calming your fears and tell you that Inbox Dollars is not a scam. They like any other legitimate site of the kind won’t charge you to sign up and even give you your first $5 just for registering with them. This little perk is a feature not found on all these sites and has earned them some positive press.
To get started, you submit your application and validate your email address. They’ll have you do a questionnaire (hobbies, interests, etc.) to make sure you get surveys relevant to you and then you just get started taking surveys and earning some cash!
Though it may not sound difficult, in order to get the site to really pay off for you, you are going to have to put in the time and effort. While filling out surveys sounds easy it does require focus and the willingness to be available a good portion of the day to do surveys as they become available. This is the only way to make any decent amount of money through Inbox Dollars
Is it a Scam?
As we already noted the short answer to that question is “no.” Inbox Dollars has been operating a legitimate business for over a decade and rewards the work of survey takers with the cash they earn.
Although the site itself is not a dedicated market research firm, they do work closely with reputed online survey panels who conduct market research studies. So, you do get the chance to participate in paid surveys as well.
If you have to only sign up for one paid survey site to make money with, I recommend Ipsos-iSay. Ipsos is the most fun and well-paying panel. Give it a try to see how you like it. It is free anyway!
Though it’s frustratingly common on other survey sites, I’ve been using ID for several years and have yet to run into any issues related to redeeming my rewards points or withdrawing earned money.
And so take comfort in the knowledge that this is a legitimate survey site being used without issue by thousands of survey takers around the world.
Comparison to other survey sites
The fact is Inbox Dollars is not the only survey site out there that will pay you to take surveys, play games, shop etc. Swagbucks pays you to search and play, CashCrate does similar stuff, so there is no shortage of this kind of sites. Still there are some great perks, only found at Inbox Dollars that put this site above the rest.
I have to applaud the fact that Inbox Dollars has a great deal of diversity in their surveys, even offering the opportunity to sign up with online focus groups and do product testing, two of my favorite paid survey options!
Another great feature of the site is their relationship with companies many, including myself are already familiar with. Businesses like Netflix, Target, and Wal-Mart use this site to get consumer opinions. Since many of us frequent these businesses we can speak truthfully about our experiences with them and enjoy the knowledge that the surveys we take are used to improve the stores we shop in.
Of course, any thorough review of Inbox Dollars should mention that “Christmas treeing” surveys is not something the site takes lightly.
This is because this site, as well as any survey site that wishes to remain in operation for any length of time will do everything in their power to protect their clients and make sure they get real useful information for their money. While it may take longer to do surveys honestly, it makes for a better deal for everyone when you do.
Other reviews
Because I believe in the idea that a diversity of opinions will yield the truest results, let’s look at some of the other reviews from around the web.
- One thing that’s causing quite a stir is that Inbox Dollars will actually pay you to read emails. Naturally this is no get rich quick scheme, but what they pay you for this really does add up. Another awesome feature is the exclusive discounts they give their members for shopping through their site.
- The discounts at the site are so good I always check there first before buying anything online. Though they don’t always have a discount for me, many times I find that they do.
- Although it sounds impossible, the site actually pays you to play online games! This is a great way to earn some money when you’re just trying to kill some time or cure your boredom.
Conclusions
Despite its great features I find that the constant invitations for free trials and the low wage earned from taking surveys outweighs the advantages, and thus I do not recommend it as a good means for earning sizable amount of money from home.
However, as far as legitimacy goes, as is evident from this review, this panel is a reputable site that will pay you. If you want to give the site a try, right now they are giving $5 bonus for new registration, you can sign up for Inbox Dollars here.
