Get Paid to Search – 7 Sites that Pay You to Search the Web

Updated on

Don't forget to share!

Get paid to search sounds interesting and almost unreal, but it’s real and there are search engines that pay you for searching the web. Unfortunately, Google isn’t one of them. You guessed it, you can’t get paid to search Google. Thankfully, there are plenty of paid search sites that do in fact make it possible for anyone to get paid to search the Internet.

All you have to do is register with these sites and search the web as you would normally. Although, each site has its own rules and regulations, they all do reward you with cash and prizes for searching with them.

Of course, it’s worth noting that the amount of money you are going to make as a paid searcher isn’t going to be substantial, but in this economy every extra dollar you can earn, counts.

With that said, if you are ready to search and win or earn cash prizes, here are 7 top search engines which pay you to search:

Get Paid to Search

You can get paid to search the Internet!
I recently wrote an extensive review of SwagBucks. SB is an online portal that lets you earn digital dollars called “Swag Bucks,” which can be redeemed for cash (PayPal) and exclusive merchandise by doing a variety of things, one of which is searching.

You search and win cash. Each search performed gives you a chance to win $1-$5, $10, $20, $50 and $100. There are also some other ways to earn money like getting paid for shopping through their network. With SB you can also get paid to complete offers.

2- ZoomBucks
ZoomBucks is a lot like SwagBucks, it even sounds like it! Not only you can earn money for searching, you can also earn money by watching videos, shopping, taking surveys, playing games, and more. Minimum requirement for cashing out is only 650 points which is equivalent to $5. Given that you earn 150 points just for signing up, it won’t take you that long to get your first payment.

You can get paid to search the web by performing genuine searches that you would do with any other search provider. You get paid $0.001 for every minute you are actively searching online. Plus, you earn 5% of your direct referral’s earnings. Once you have $25 in your account you can cash out, which will be paid to you via PayPal.

4- shows results from three major engines, Google, Yahoo and Bing. You can either earn points for each search you make, or earn by voting and commenting on keywords that have been searched.

You will earn points (usually 3 points per search) for the first 100 searches that you do daily. Plus, you earn 25% of what  each of your invited friends earn. 6500 points equals to $25 ,assuming you have many friends to invite you have the potential to earn a lot of points quiet rapidly. Paid by PayPal or prepaid visa gift card .

With Blingo you don’t actually get paid to search the web, rather you earn chances to win. All you have to do is search just like you normally would. Each search (up to 25 per day) will give you one chance to win prizes instantly. Prizes include anything from movie tickets to cars  (Though I have never heard or known of anybody who has won an actual car!).

Each day, Blingo’s prize program chooses a bunch of winning times (usually several per hour). The first person to search after a winning time wins the prize. You must be at least 13 years old and live in United States to be able to participate.

Irazoo is a really cool get paid to search site with a few interesting features. Each search you perform gives you a chance to win an Amazon gift certificate instantly! Plus, you can earn 4 points by voting for or against every website you search for, leave a comment for that site and you will earn 4 more points.

Every time you refer a new member, you will earn 50 points. Your referral will also earn 50 points just for joining. The cool thing is that if that person or friend who you refer to the iRazoo, wins a Gift Certificate, you will win that same Gift Certificate as well!

The points earned then can be exchanged for prizes, such as Mp3 players, Cameras, Memory sticks & Video Game systems.

This one is very different and unique in the sense that you can help a friend in need by searching. It has been developed as a way of raising funds for those who need support, simply from you searching the internet.

Here is how it works; After registering, you choose a cause or add your own (that cause or person in need could be yourself). To dedicate your earnings to that cause or person, perform searches like you would normally do and SupportingFriends will share 50% of  their Yahoo revenue that is generated from your searches, with you, which is then paid to that cause or person every 30 days.

Obviously, you’re not gonna make a living with paid searches. Nonetheless, it’s fun to make money searching the Internet. And considering the fact that you are not doing anything extra to earn that money, it’s worth it. I mean, you are basically doing what you already do any way, searching! The only difference is that you actually get paid to search.

Very interesting blog. I might try one of these. But are you sure these are safe? Have you tried any? Please reply asap, and thanks for sharing this information with us.

    • satrap says:

Yes they are safe. I mean, its all free. You just register with them and instead of using the usual search engines that you use for searching, use their search engines. You don’t have anything to lose really. Although, I have to say, you wont make a lot of money obviously. But its a good way to get paid for something that you already do anyway.

Do i need to sign up on those websites?

I have been a member of Swagbucks since the first part of July 2010. Since I joined, I have made over 190.00 in amazon gift cards. They are definitely legitimate. As far as viruses or malware, if you do the special offers, be aware that it is NOT Swagbucks that is putting the links out there.. It is the special offers companies (Gambit, RadiumOne, SuperRewards, etc). I just dont do the special offers at all.

You get swagbucks for searching (usually 2-3 times a day, you get your ‘dailies’ which are 6 swagbucks that you get every day for doing a poll, clicking on the survey link and a few other things, you can get referrals that will pay up to 1000 of each referral’s search wins to your account as well, you can do special offers, surveys, tasks, watch videos, and more.

    Swagbucks is awesome..

  8. Saksham says:

Whoa, there are so many unique ways to earn on internet! And earning from searching seems to be good, because this is something we do each and everyday! :)

    • satrap says:

      Hey Saksham,
Obviously, its not a way to pay the bills, but it’s a fun way for many people to make a few extra bucks.

      • Dan says:

@satrap, Yeah its amazing how many people would
actually try this type of incentive.

  9. Dan says:

Who would of thought you could get paid to search? Its a very good idea to incentivize users but not sure about the long term consequences.

    • satrap says:

I agree, not a good long term solution, but its the same as any other promotions that most businesses, especially new ones do to get themselves out there in front of the new audience.
