Why Sunday is the best day to end eBay auctions?
You may be surprised to learn that Sundays are typically the highest traffic days of the week for eBay and thus many power sellers utilize them as end days for their auctions to entice more buyers. This higher level of activity combined with the psychological effect of an auction coming to an end typically results in more bids and thus a higher profit margin for those utilizing this trick.
Though ending on Sunday will help, making sure your auction ends in the evening is even better. 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. seems to be the prime bidding time, followed closely by the 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. slot.
Obviously, the longer you have your merchandise available for purchase, the more people will see it and potentially the more they’ll bid on it. In order to maximize this effect, try posting your auctions on a Thursday evening between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. and set them up as a 10 day listing. This will have them open for two high traffic weekends and ending in that lucrative Sunday evening slot.

The reason baby items in particular do so well in the evening is because that’s usually the first opportunity a new mother has to sit down and relax from the daily grind. Still with a new baby on the brain, when mom does finally get to check out what’s new on eBay, she’s probably heading straight for the baby items.
